Generali social actions highlighted during Pride Month

Our commitment to equal rights and fair treatment for the LGBTQI+ community goes beyond Pride Month which is celebrated each year in the month of June. For Generali it is about everyday actions to make everyone feel supported, equal and safe.

The LGBTQ+ community is founded on the belief that everyone should have the right to live, work and love freely. In Generali, we know that meeting human rights responsibilities is crucial to achieve equality for all – but we want to do more and be active agents of change.

    What is Pride Month?

Pride Month is currently celebrated each year in the month of June to honor the 1969 Stonewall Uprising in Manhattan, US. The Stonewall Uprising was a tipping point for the Gay Liberation Movement in the United States. The purpose of the commemorative month is to recognize the impact that lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender individuals have had on history locally, nationally, and internationally.

    When is Pride Month?

In US, as a sub-holiday during Pride Month, Pride Day is celebrated on June 28. The day marks the date in history when the first pride march was held in New York City in 1970. However, different communities celebrate Pride Day on different days throughout the entire June.

    Traditions for Pride Month

Pride Month is for everyone to embrace who they are. The rainbow aptly signifies the colorful activities and flavors of this month-long celebration. These include massive rallies, pride parades, workshops, concerts, and countless more LGBTQI+ events to attract participants from all over.
