Generali volunteers cleaned up the Praga City Beach

On April 22, on the occasion of World Earth Day, Generali Poland's employees took part in an action to clean up the Vistula River. The event was part of the fifth edition of Operation Clean River, the largest social action to clean up rivers in Poland.

During the cleanup, more than 400 volunteers managed to collect almost 10 tons of trash. The Generali Poland team, which included 25 volunteers, also made its contribution.

    - World Earth Day is a great reason to remind how important it is to take care of the environment. According to Generali's strategy, we want to have a positive impact, and inspire our stakeholders to behave responsibly, which is why the educational value of the Operation Clean River campaign is so important to us," emphasizes Justyna Szafraniec, PR Director at Generali Polska.

Generali Polska has become the official insurer of the action, and during this year's edition of Operation Clean River, it will take care of NNW insurance for participants in the social cleaning of rivers. The policy not only provides compensation in case of an accident, but also covers the cost of purchasing orthopedic items and rehabilitation.

Operation Clean River is the largest coordinated social river cleanup campaign in Poland, which has been running since 2019. Each year the action expands its reach and brings together more and more committed people. Last year, more than 8,600 people were willing to clean up, and 230 tons of waste was collected. This year, a record number of volunteers joined the campaign - more than 15,000 people so far.
