PRAGUE - It is with the deepest sadness that Generali Group has learned of the passing of Mr. Petr Kellner.

Mr. Kellner, 56, was the founder and majority shareholder of the Czech investment company PPF Group, headquartered in Prague.

In 2007, Generali and PPF set up Generali PPF Holding (GPH) to combine all of Generali’s and the PPF Group’s insurance assets in the CEE Region. Generali took full control of GPH in 2015, so as to accelerate the successful development of Generali’s activities in Central and Eastern Europe. At the same time, the holding company’s name was changed to Generali CEE Holding.

From 2007 till 2013 Petr Kellner was member of the Board of Directors of Assicurazioni Generali.

Luciano Cirinà, Austria CEE & Russia Regional Officer and CEO of Generali CEE Holding, said: “I’m deeply shocked to learn of Petr Kellner’s death. He was a visionary businessman with whom Generali established a productive economic partnership. Our friendship was sincere and I’ve been lucky enough to get to work with him.”.

On behalf of all of us at Generali Group we offer our thoughts and condolences to Mr. Petr Kellner family, friends and PPF employees.
