Gregor Pilgram at MQ 2021 Conference in Slovenia

Chief Customer & Distribution Officer in Austria, CEE & Russia Region, Gregor Pilgram, participated at MQ 2021 Conference in Slovenia: “We aim to speed up transformation while staying committed to a sustainable future.”

MQ conference “The Speed of Transformation: Who is in the lead?” took place in Slovenia on June 10th at Brdo pri Kranju. It was the first big live event organised by the Managers’ Association of Slovenia after the third Covid-19 wave. Successful Slovenian managers discussed sustainable leadership. Gregor Pilgram, Chief Customer & Distribution Officer in Austria, CEE & Russia Region and CEO of Generali in Austria, took part at the "Transformation Olympics" round table.

Gregor Pilgram and his three “Olympic” interlocutors - John Denhof, President of the Management Board at NKBM, Zooullis Mina, CEO of Pivovarna Laško Union, and Lucija Sajevec, Director of AMZS – shared their knowledge and extensive experiences obtained in the field of sustainable leadership and change management. Gregor Pilgram’s discussion focused on how to achieve good business results when merging two different organizational cultures and achieving winning company performance. As he said: “Our merger with Adriatic Slovenica would probably be much more challenging without our motivated and committed employees, driven by a common attitude and willingness to change.’’

Gregor Pilgram also gave some excellent remarks on how Generali managers are facing the new challenges: “Just now we are addressing strategic questions of how to speed up the transformation of our Group in the light of the “new normal” while keeping in mind our commitment to a sustainable future. At the same time, we are bringing the skills necessary for successful future work to our employees via different educational modules.”

“My personal goals target establishing a balance between short-term management of the pandemic situation and the mid- and long-term stability and profitability of the company. I am focused on ensuring that the company will have enough capabilities – technological and employees´ skills – which are necessary for development, reaching goals and success in a volatile market. I also see an important challenge in attracting the best talents from different fields – also those not traditionally connected to insurance – and how to successfully integrate and retain them,” he concluded.
