Generali Bulgaria was awarded as an Investor in the community for its THSN project, during the 2021 Annual Responsible Business Awards

Generali Bulgaria received important recognition at the 2021 Annual Responsible Business Awards, organized by the Bulgarian Business Leaders Forum. The company won the second place award in the category ‘Investor in the community‘.

A total of 116 entries in the different categories, submitted by 80 companies, were assessed by an independent and objective jury of respected experts from the NGO sector, institutions, businesses, academia, and the media.

Receiving this recognition is the result of Generali’s efforts towards the initiative The Human Safety Net (THSN) in Bulgaria. On a local level, in partnership with For Our Children Foundation, the project provides support for children and families, living in vulnerable conditions.

Between the end of 2019 and now, THSN Bulgaria has supported more than 1830 children and 2620 parents. In 2021, 910 children and families from 15 different areas received help and specialized services.

Last year the majority of the activities were focused on providing medical, social care, and other services in two For Our Children Foundation‘s centres in the cities of Sofia and Plovdiv. There, the children have access to a range of activities such as early childhood intervention, kinesitherapy, music and art therapy, socializing activities, and etc.

In addition, in 2021 a campaign was started for emergency material assistance for families, affected by the pandemic. Its focus is parents, who lost their job, as well as children, who lost a parent due to COVID-19.
