The Human Safety Net celebrates its fifth birthday

The Human Safety Net has grown to include 62 NGO Partners in 24 countries, supporting more than 209,000 parents and children and 2,300 refugees to unlock their potential and transform their lives, and engaging thousands of volunteers.

Yves Carbonnelle, Group Head of THSN Engagement and Communication, stated: “The Human Safety Net turns 5! What an amazing journey! 24 countries in action, a community of 62 NGOs acting in more than 300 locations. Today, we are proud to be such a movement of people helping people impacting and transforming the lives of more than 200 thousand parents, children and refugees. These first 5 years also reinforced our conviction that by acting together, we reach a higher social impact, acting as an open net. We already look with trust and high commitment to the next five years! Join us in celebrating this milestone.”

The Human Safety Net – a social innovation hub powered by Generali’s skills, networks, and solutions to create social impact – was activated in eleven countries of our region. The very first CEE country to join The Human Safety Net was Romania in March 2018.

The For Families Program in CEE targets key social issues affecting communities including: creating equal life opportunities for children from disadvantaged backgrounds and saving newborns from the debilitating and potentially fatal consequences of asphyxia. In Austria and CEE region we supported 16 613 beneficiaries (as of 31. 12. 2021), be it families with children or newborns.
