Česká pojišťovna and Generali Pojišťovna will create the biggest insurance company on the Czech market

Prague - The Czech insurance market will have a new leader. The new number one insurer will be created by integration of activities of Česká pojišťovna and Generali Pojišťovna, two insurers operating in the Czech Republic within Generali, one of the largest global insurance and asset management providers.

Luciano Cirinà, Austria, CEE & Russia Regional Officer and CEO of Generali CEE Holding, of which both insurance companies have been part since 2008, said: „By integration of activities of the two strong and successful insurers, we will offer our clients the widest product portfolio, even higher-quality services, better availability and faster settlement of claims. This is an important step within the global strategy of Generali Group. The insurance portfolio of Generali Pojišťovna will become part of Česká pojišťovna by the end of 2019. The company will be named Generali Česká pojišťovna and will be led by Roman Juráš, the current CEO and the Chairman of the Board of Directors of Česká pojišťovna. The transaction is subject to the approval of regulatory body.

Thanks to integration of activities of both insurance companies, the product range will be expanded not only for retail clients but also for small, medium and large enterprises and clients from the agriculture sector.
