Slovak Generali and Generali Česká pojišťovna announce connection of both companies

    • At the end of 2021, Slovak insurance company Generali will unify with Generali Česká pojišťovna. The connection has yet to be approved by the relevant regulatory authorities.

Bratislava/Prague - Since last year, Slovak insurance company Generali and Generali Česká pojišťovna have been working intensively together and looking for synergies within various areas in order to provide the best and most innovative services for their clients, agents and partners in both countries. Given the positive results of the cooperation so far, the two insurance will combine their activities, at an organisational level, to make the most of the experience and know-how of the two firms.

Roman Juráš, CEO of Generali Česká pojišťovna and Country Manager of the Generali Group for the Czech Republic and Slovakia, says: “We want to use the expertise, capacities and best experience of both companies to permanently connect teams and create a new structure that makes sense. We have a great opportunity to join forces, to use the size and power of Generali Česká pojišťovna and the simplicity and innovative drive of Slovak Generali to provide the best services for our customers and partners together.”

Organisational interconnection is now subject to approval by the competent supervisory authorities. When Generali gets approval from the supervisory authorities, all customers in Slovakia will be informed of the change within the statutory time limit (30 days). Generali in Slovakia will operate as a branch of Generali Česká pojišťovna, under the name Generali Poisťovňa, a branch of an insurance company from another Member State.

The connection will have no effect on existing contracts or on services provided to customers or business partners. Conversely, the continued improvement of the quality of products and services remains a long-term priority of both insurance companies in Slovakia and the Czech Republic, so that customers have maximum support available at any time and place.

Juraj Jurčík, CEO of Generali Poisťovňa, explains: “Connecting activities will enable us to share resources, continuously improve processes and deliver even better solutions and services to our customers in terms of our ambition to become a lifetime partner. Generali is one of the fastest growing and most stable insurance companies in Slovakia. We want to retain this position so that we can continue to face unexpected situations such as the current pandemic, in a timely and appropriate manner.”

Roman Juráš will be the Country Manager and CEO for the Czech Republic and Slovakia. Juraj Jurčík will be a member of the Czech-Slovak Board of Directors and at the same time he will manage the Slovak Generali branch, while he will also be responsible for sales area in Slovak.
