    GČP INDEX for the first half of 2023

    There were half as many fatal accidents in the regional cities, with the safest roads in Hradec Králové, Karlovy Vary and Liberec

    The safest roads in the regional cities in the Czech Republic were monitored in Hradec Králové in the first half of this year. Karlovy Vary ranked second, followed by Liberec in third place. 84 out of the 206 municipalities with extended jurisdiction experienced traffic accidents with fatalities or serious injuries. These and other data are provided by the GČP INDEX for the first half of 2023.

    Prague - The GČP INDEX describes the accident rate based on the ratio of serious and fatal accidents to the total number of accidents in the urban areas of regional cities and all 206 municipalities with extended jurisdiction, compared to the total number of registered traffic accidents. This is the so-called severity of traffic accidents, the higher the GČP INDEX value, the worse the traffic safety situation.
